Art At The Ridge is pleased to announce an art exhibition on Friday February 24th, 2012 at 6pm to 8pm, featuring illustrator and artist, Felicia Atanasiu.

Originally from Romania, Antigua-based Felicia studied Fine Art & Design at the Ontario College of Art & Design University  (OCADU), majoring in Illustration.  Felicia’s innovative talent has gained the respect and recognition of industry professionals, especially in editorials and advertising.  Her feminine illustrations have been featured in international magazines such as IdN (International Designers’ Network) and Digital Arts, as well as More, Homemakers, Canadian Family, Philadelphia Weekly and The Miami Herald..  Felicia’s work has brought her international clients, including L’Oreal, Playgirl, Alfa Romeo and Ink Publishing.

Felicia has received awards from American Illustration, Iconique Societas Fashion Illustration and Creative Quarterly: The Journal for Art and Design.  Her artwork has been exhibited in group shows in Toronto, New York and Milan.

Felicia’s vision is rooted in the distant memories of Romanian folklore, the psychedelic ‘70s, the abstract expressionism movement, the avant-garde movement, as well as figurative and emotive drawing.  The explosion of colour, detailed line work, abstract shapes and subtle textures she uses are blended in a creative and dynamic way to create the final organic compositions that Felicia is known for.
