Onyx - the first 'Moonshine' girl
Onyx is our latest Sunshine Girl. She isn't just another pretty face. Check out her bio as written by her...
"I dont think I would have ever been a model or started modeling because growing up with mostly males in the household, I always had the attributes of a tom boy. But when I moved to Antigua, my sense of style and appearance changed. I think taking up ballet as an extra curricular activity made an impact on this change. I felt very girly and graceful and my posture showed the difference. When I turned 12 I became very interested in fashion and style and I always looked at magazines thinking to myself "I wonder if I could do this". And not too long after I did. I started modeling at the age of 13. I was asked by Tamie a.k.a T'mique photography to be a model for her Independence photo shoot because she liked the slimness of my body & the simple beauty of my face & ever since I've loved the feeling of being beautiful & the camera shooting me. Now that I'm 14, I've fallen in love with modeling and the way it makes me feel.
As for my career plans, I'd like to pursue a degree in architecture & civil engineering in Canada after I'm finished high school. I would also like to continue modeling and become a professional photographer. I absolutely love drawing, fashion designing and writing poems & stories. When it comes to entertainment, music is all I need. Techno, dubstep, and house music would have to be my cup of tea.
On a whole, modeling gives me confidence. It puts me in a world of bliss & self appreciation of my body and love for the camera. I would definitely love to continue it & who knows what the future holds, maybe I'll become professional." — Onyx
