In 2006 a young (17yrs) self-taught Antiguan female and bedroom DJ, decided to step foot into the entertainment industry in Antigua. She wasn't alone, her brothers (not blood) WarDadli SoulJahs (Selecta G and Dangerous), Renegade Sounds, Mental of Poison Dart (Antigua), Zugu of Zuguluss Movements, Safia Edwards, Joelle Thomas and Eta James helped to pave the way for the talented, humbled young woman who aspired to make a difference and do something that no other female DJ in Antigua had accomplished... Put together an ALL FEMALE sound.

Alas! she found her calling.

With loads of encouragement from close friends and family the sound was born: Sistah Souljahs!

With only two females playing the sound at the time, Damara aka Selecta DD and Eta James (MC), made their debut in April of 2006 at Renegade's "Bikini Sunday". That night Antigua was introduced to the future of female DJ's in Antigua... and the feedback was promising!

Since their debut in April 2006, DD herself or as a group, have traveled to Anguilla, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, St. Martin, St. Kitts, Montserrat, Barbuda, Barbados, St. Vincent, Dominica, New York (Bronx & Brooklyn) & Maryland (Baltimore) leaving the mark of Antigua and Barbuda's Top all female sound.

Sistah SoulJahs is eight members strong today: Eta James, Damara 'DD' Phillips, Joelle 'Hotseppa' Thomas, Lauria 'Ria G' Lewis, Tamesha 'Eboni Brandon' Joseph & Safia 'Safi' Edwards (Close Friend & Management), Siena “Si Si” Phillips & Gerri Underwood (Admin Assistants) with a fully functional team of 3 Selectors(DJs) and 2 MC's.
