Golden Grove blanks Warriors at Dredge Bay
Inet Young Warriors suffered a 3-0 defeat to Golden Grove in the ABFA Second Division on Monday.
Warriors failed to get back into the game after conceding two goals within the first five minutes through careless defending at the Dredge Bay playing field. And although the Warriors improved after the early setback they could not find a way past the Golden Grove defence although they had created a few half-chances.
Golden Grove sealed the points just before the end when they netted their third goal to extinguish any hope of a Warriors’ comeback. Warriors remain on 10 points in the standings.
It has been a tough few days for Warriors as the Under 13s had mixed results in the ABFA Development League at Parham on Saturday.
The boys were beaten by Empire 3-2 on penalties after a goal-less draw at full time after going under to Swetes 1-0. Jordan Thomas and Tyrique Benjamin netted their penalties.
Young Germans, the Warriors U13 B-team, lost 3-0 to Empire and 2-1 to Bassa.
In a match-up between Warriors and Germans, the former won 1-0 thanks to a strike by Thomas.
