Cricket in paradise... arriving November 16 to 20, 2011
Host Richie Rich Sports and Leisure with Indigo Events Services invite everyone to the annual Antigua and Barbuda International Masters 20/20 Cricket Fest 2011. It all happens at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Wednesday November 16th to Sunday November 20th, 2011.
Plans are well underway for the 2nd annual Fest with New Jersey Masters, Veterans Sports Club, Barbados Masters, Mississauga Ramblers and Antigua Masters signed up to challenge the current Champions, New York Masters, for this year’s prize of - $3,000US.
All matches will be played at the SVRS and games start at 9:30am: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday - no play on Friday as the players take a break to experience some sun, sea, rum and beach cricket courtesy of Wadadli Cats.
In addition to the Masters Competition this year, there will be two exhibition matches. Lashings World XI vs Antigua Barbuda National Team and the Antigua Legends vs a Combined Masters Select II making for some great cricket along with the world famous Chickie HiFi and of course Antiguan Rum, tasty food and some great company!
On Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th November, Lashings World XI — together with members of the Antigua Legends — will be holding afternoon coaching sessions at the stadium for our up and coming young cricketers. They will have the chance to learn from the Masters, first hand, and we may discover the next Sir Viv or Curtly Ambrose or Richie Richardson.
Be sure to watch keep an eye out for some exciting news about Saturday night when the stadium becomes THE place to be in Antigua - and not just for the cricket! As last year, we want to encourage as many people to come and support the teams as we can, so the games are FREE every day except for Saturday.
Come and join us at SVRS for some great cricket in the sun, rub shoulders with some of the best known cricketers in the world, shake it down to some hot tunes with Chickie's Hi-fi, have a beer or rum or two and yam on some delicious local food... so make a note in your diary and we’ll see you there!
