Kudoes pour out to Benna Boys
They play tonight at 7pm.
Despite the 3–1 result against Antigua/Barbuda, in the World Cup Qualification Round on the Road to Rio, after Friday night, June 8, 2012, even the die-hard critics would have to admit that the Antigua/Barbuda team, the BENNA BOYS, did the Nation proud.
If one were to consider the goals that the USA scored, none were truly convincing. It was just two lapsing moments in the goal box, and a careless tackle in the 18 yds box, that gave the USA a penalty shot at goal.
But look at the shot from the Nation’s top marksman—Peter Byers, in the 65 minute! A superb rocket that USA custodian Tim How-ard could not handle.
Why wasn’t Byers introduced into the game in the first half is one of the few questions asked.
Most of Antigua/Barbuda eyes, and in the diaspora were glued to the match. And, all hailed the efforts of the BENNA BOYS.
As for the National goalkeeper, Molvin James, it was an outstanding performance.
However, the Road to Rio is a long and difficult one — let’s see how Benna does against Reggae TONIGHT at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
