Attendance was light, but the Open House was excellent
Amidst inclement weather, the Concerned Parents/Teachers Sports Association Wings Sports Club persevered to host its first Open House, Appreciation and Talent Day, on Saturday, April 21, at the Christ the King High School grounds.
Although not more than 150 spectators and visitors, a few of the comments opined by many of those present were “excellent,” “good display,” “didn’t know the club did all these things.”
All the coordinators of the Event, including Denise Hewlett, Jose Otto, Maria Bradshaw, Tansy Pile-Wade and Barbara Coates, felt a great sense of accomplishment and was very satisfied with the displays and the talent & modeling appearances. Their only regret, however, was that the Day was not very well supported.
According to Barbara Coates, “it was hard work to put on this Open House, and with all the promotion we did, it was sad to see the lack of attendance to witness what the Club is all about.”
Besides the display of paraphernalia and Club’s history, the Club honoured some of the early members of the CPTSA, including Louise Henry, Pauline Francis, Everton Cornelius, Randy Allen and Thaddeus Price.
Also honoured were the long & outstanding sponsors of the various CPTSA Events, including Hutchinson (Antigua) Ltd., Kenneth A. Gomez & Sons, and Antigua Computer Technology Co. Ltd. Other Sponsors present and honoured were APUA, Social Security and State Insurance Corporation.
The Open House, Appreciation & Talent Day was organized to show appreciation and recognition to the sponsors of CPTSA Events and some of its long serving members.
The CPTSA takes this opportunity and medium to thank all those who came forward to contribute to a successful exhibition. These sponsors include, Town House Mega Store, Illuminat, GProductions, Hakims, Cool & Smooth, It’s, Source, Edge, Ignizio, Flower World and Lyris Tracey.
