This schedule presents all the social action (we could find) taking place during Sailing Week, 2011. Included are all OFFICIAL events and notable other action taking place during Sailing Week. We will be updating this schedule, adding more events as they are announced.

SATURDAY APRIL 23

Sailing Week Welcome Party @ The Beer Tent, 5pm - 10pm

A chance to catch up with old friends. Happy hour, tasty food and live music from Lime Hellsgate Steel Orchestra and roots reggae band Mansire as well as Steel pan.

Sailing Week Media Reception, 5pm - 8pm
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Antigua Sailing Week 2011 Official Media Reception at the Chivas Lounge in the Copper & Lumber Store. Registration is from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Reception is from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Invitation Only.

International Kite Festival, 9am -5pm
It's the 5th Annual and a fantastic fun day of kite flying and competition. Antigua has lots of wind and lots of kite fans. Happening in Freeman's Village. Perfect for the entire family. Click here for more information.

Devotion Fashion Show, 8pm
Sashé Models presents an elegant fashion show featuring the fashion and modeling talents, island-wide. This is taking place at the Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort. A portion of the proceeds will be going to the Good Shephard Home for Girls and other local charities.

Pure Passion 2k11 Production Carnival Runway... The Catwalk, 8pm - 1am
It is the official band launch of the Pure Passion Carnival Band, taking place at Rush Nightclub.

Sailing Week Official Welcome After-Party, 11pm - 4am
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
SOS……Rescued by Club Music. The best of European Dance Music on the deck and Balearic chill out lounge in the cool backyard, fire eater and dancers. EC $20 at the door. Happening at Abracadabra's.
 

THE ZOO, 11pm - 4am
Local promoters: Team Ultra are throwing down a night for party animals, featuring the DJ talents of DJ Crown Prince, DJ Tanny, DJ Gravity and Sistah Souljahs. Get an entry ticket or an all-inclusive pass. For more details click here.

Urban Hustle live performance, 10pm - 1am
Local band kickin' it for Sailing Week with their fresh energetic live set of rockin' reggae & soca cover songs. This is a very tight band and not to be missed. Playing at Mad Mongoose in English Harbour. No cover charge.

SUNDAY APRIL 24

Breakfast @ Shirley Heights Lookout, 8am - 11am
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Enjoy incredible views of the races to the sound of steel pan and new this year, race commentary, also on VHF Channel 67 for any spectator boats out on the water, as well as for spectators at Shirley Heights Lookout.

The Galleon Beach Bash, 4pm - midnight
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Live music from Blade @ Calabash Beach Bar and Restaurant.  Drinks and dining on the deck, DJ’s and chill out on the beach, tasty food and cold drinks at Vendors Village and some surprise guests arriving throughout the afternoon. Across the water @ Event Village, Ambaz live on stage at 7 pm.

A Sunday Session w/ DJ Nigel G, 3pm - 7pm
Catch a very groovy sunset at Carmicheal's Restaurant overlooking Sugar Ridge Resort. DJ Nigel G spins a chilled set of deep house music. Perfect for watching the boats sail by and the sun paint the sky as it sinks into the Caribbean Sea. There's a beautiful hilltop infinity pool to cool off and Carmichael's is serving both food and drinks.

The Spirit of the Mojito, 3pm - 8pm
Island Experience presents an afternoon delight with DJ De LaFé spinning latino beach house music. Featuring cocktails with Bacardi and other specials. BBQ sparks up at 4pm. Happening at Gibson's, two miles south of Jolly Harbour at Crabbe Hill Beach. No cover charge.

Urban Hustle live performance, 8pm - 10pm

Chickie hi-fi spinning Caribbean grooves, 10pm - close
The original island DJ Chickie. He spins, soca, reggae and lots of other Caribbean grooves with a mix of R&B and popular party music. Happening at Mad Mongoose. No cover..

Red Hot @ Zodiac Drift Party, 11pm - ?
Oungku & Red Hot will be performing their classic soca set live onstage at Lion's Den. $20. gets you in. This is authentic Antiguan nightlife.

MONDAY APRIL 25

Monday Madness @ Event Village, 3pm – 11pm

Live music from Spirited with cricketing legend Curtley Ambrose on stage at 8 pm, with excellent food and afternoon happy hour.

Captain's Cocktail Party, 6pm - 8pm
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Antigua Sailing Week 2011 Captain’s Cocktail Party will be held in the Chivas Lounge at Copper and Lumber in the dockyard. Invitation Only.

Rico and the Foreplay live performance, 8pm - 11pm
Funky, jazzy, groovy band getting it on, at Sugar Club at Sugar Ridge Resort - the sexiest club in Antigua. No cover charge.

3rd Annual No Violation Easter Dance, 8pm - 3am
Huge lineup of local DJs playing Caribbean music. Location: Sea View Lawn, Urlings Harbour.

Tease Me, 6pm - 9pm - to late.
As the title suggests, it is a sexy night with local DJs Woodenfoot and friends. Prize money offered to ladies who dress in less. Happening at The Coast Bar & Nightclub in St. John's. $10 before 9pm, $25 after.

TUESDAY APRIL 26

Sunset at the Heights @ Shirley Heights Lookout, 5pm - 11pm
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Maxi Priest Headlines this superb party. Halcyon Steel Band at sunset followed by itchyfeet and Hygh Tempa.  EC $50 in advance, EC $60 at the door.  Tickets on sale at the SWAT booths in Event Village and the Antigua Yacht Club from 21st April and at the Antigua Hotels and Tourist Association office in St. John’s.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 27

Lay Day @ Antigua Yacht Club, 5pm - 10pm
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Fun and games, music from Chickie Hi-Fi and LIME Hellsgate Steel Orchestra with the return of the greasy pole and wet T-shirt competition.  Teams interested in participating should register at the Committee Desk. Then back over to Event Village for live music from Tizzy & El-A-Kru from 9 pm.

Soul Sessions, 2-4-1 Steak Night, 8pm - 11pm
It's a laid-back evening with Sugar Club's resident DJ spinning loungy jazz and deep club sounds. No cover charge. Make sure you bring a friend to enjoy the two-for-one steak night.

THURSDAY APRIL 28

The Dock Party @ Jolly Harbour, 2pm until ?

Enjoy the afternoon into evening lime with live music from Itchy Feet at the Jolly Harbour Sports Bar and Urban Hustle, Lime Hellsgate Steel Pan and Chickie Hi-Fi playing throughout the afternoon and into the night.  Bars, restaurants and shops are open all evening throughout the commercial centre.

Antiguan band playing Caribbean soca originals. These guys are an institution in Antigua and seasoned musical veterans. Happening at Mad Mongoose in English Harbour. No cover charge.

FRIDAY APRIL 29

Prize Giving @ Event Village, 7pm - ?
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Awards begin promptly at 7 pm followed by live music from Laviscount Brass. Food and drink on sale.  Free entry.

Wadadli Music Fest 'Meet the Stars', 8pm - 4am
People get the chance to meet the performers, artists, DJ's and hosts. Meet, mingle, dance and party with the music by DJ's Woody, Nez, Ibis, Sistah Souljahs, Gravity and Wardadli Souljahs. Admission is $10. and it's all happening at Sticky Wicket courtyard.

Piano Bar with Vincent Blaize, 8pm - 11pm
Vincent Blaize is a must-see for any real music fan. His repertoire is 200+ songs at the piano. Vincent is absolutely brilliant on the babay grand. It's seafood night at Sugar Club. No cover.

Fiah Antz performing live at Mad Mongoose, 10pm - close
Drop by English Harbour for this Antiguan bar band tearing it up with some authentic Antigua live music. No cover.

SATURDAY APRIL 30

Dockyard Day @ Nelson’s Dockyard, 2pm - 7pm
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Ole’ time fun with choirs, steel pan, mas, parades and more.  Prize winners of the Liat School Arts Competition and Beating of the Retreat lead this family afternoon out to the Dockyard Car Park for the finale party.

The Cavalier Rum Street Party @ The Dockyard Car Park, 7pm - ?
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Enjoy excellent food  and live music including Burning Flames, Tian Winter, Claudette Peters & Taxik & LIME Hellsgate Steel Orchestra. The party will also celebrate the official launch of Antigua Carnival 2011.

Urban Hustle live performance, 9:30pm - 12:30am

5th Annual Wadadli Music Fest & Cook-off, noon - 11:30pm
This huge festival is a day-long event and is packed with loads of fantastic Antiguan musical talent + important artists. Partial playlist: Red Fox, Causion, Maurice, Jashan Hughes, Laurena Davis, Lee Pee Ching, Tonic Band and plenty more. Also a cook-off. Admission is FREE. Best of the Clubs, 10pm - 1am
The Coast Bar & Nightclub is presenting resident DJs spinning Caribbean music. It's a trip down memory lane playing some of the best tracks of yesteryear. $20 to get in, drink specials all night.

SUNDAY MAY 1

The Big Beach Bash @ Dickenson Bay, 4 pm until ?
OFFICIAL SAILING WEEK EVENT
Live Music, DJ’s, excellent food vendors and a serious beach lime. If you can come by water, cruise to Dickenson Bay, moor up and enjoy the music from your boat, or go ashore and join in the fun. Enjoy a performance later in the evening by Trinidadian Soca Artist, Iwer George. Remember the next day is a Bank Holiday!

Myst Carnival Band will be launching their season's Carnival costumes. Myst is the most well organized and marketed Band in Antigua and if you are a Carnival lover, this is one unveil not to be missed. Limited advanced tickets are $75. To purchase, call 464-4FUN. This is a sell-out event.
