Ahoy Mateys! Sailing Week is here
Sailing Week is by far one of Antigua's biggest and best events, now in it's 43rd year. We all know the history, the parties, the controversy and the successes, but the 2010 incarnation is going to take it in a whole new direction. And what a way to go!
Organisers would like you to discover a whole new side to Sailing Week and they're doing so by placing an emphasis on parties more so than in the past. Along with Third World, local bands like Claudette "CP" Peters & Taxik, Tian Winter, Burning Flames, Tizzy & El A Kru, and Itchy Feet are on tap to deliver the music. And, globetrotters and legendary reggae band Third World is booked for what promises to be a love-fest up at Shirley Heights on Thursday, April 29th.
The whole thing kicks off at the "Welcome to Antigua" festivities on Saturday, April 24th at Nelson's Dockyard featuring Richie Richardson, Curtley Ambrose and their band Spirited. And it culminates at Dockyard Day, Saturday, May 1st, Nelson's Dockyard, from 3PM to 12AM.
