Third World Rocks the Heights
Shirley Heights has been the location of a couple amazing nights of music and Third World's live performance was definitely one of them. The crowds packed in as openers on the big stage, itchyfeet ran through their familiar set of cover songs, gearing up the audience. It couldn't have been a more perfect night.
Third World is a band I personally had lost touch with in the 80's after my turntable went away and I didn't replace vinyl with their CDs. So it was an excellent reintroduction. Third World were ON, as they ripped through their set which their fans were all to familiar with, singing along completely enraptured by the onstage performance; hanging on every note. The energy between Third World and audience was electric.
Kudos to the Sailing Week organization for selecting both Third World and the venue for the performance. It was perfect for the crowd. Everything seemed to go off without a hitch. The lighting, sound and staff were all in sync. Kudos to the team for such a flawless night.
