The Cuban Brothers rocked the house for Aidan's 40th
Saturday 22 May 2010 at Sugar Club in Antigua was a circus. No really. A circus.
There was a mechanical bull, a magician, fire breathers, carnival girls, limbo artist, fireworks... and the cherry on top? All the way from Cuba via the UK came none other than the Cuban Brothers (pronounced "coo-ban").
The Cuban Brothers almost caused a riot. They sang, they danced, they made the women swoon, they made the men jealous and they made everyone SCREAM. Their suave, latin bravado and charm had panties flying up onstage (or were mine the only ones?).
At midnight an impressive show of fireworks punched the sky. The night exploded right above us.
The evening was a smash success with the largest crowd ever at the Sugar Club. And as the evening wore on, the beverages flowed freely and the level of celebration increased to a fever pitch, we put away our cameras to allow guests to enjoy the rest of the night, uninhibited by the camera's eye.
Happy Birthday Aidan. You've really outdone yourself. Step aside Barnum and Bailey, Aidan McCauley is the circus master. And no doubt, we're not the only one waiting to see what you have up your sleeve next.
