Sweet Love at Sugar Club: the Valentine affair
Sweet Love Valentine's Party was held this week at, where else, Sugar Club, the new nightclub located at the Sugar Ridge hotel. The event was designed to celebrate the year's most romantic day.
Under a massive 17' x 17' set designed and built by Event Studios (ES) and bookmarked by two large screens, local models took over the main pool wearing the latest in resort designs by Mariana Frisell and accessories by Miranda Designs. The men and women donned sexy bikinis, swim trunks, loungewear and other clothing meant to showcase your very best while hanging around the pool or seaside. Entertainment Bazaar's Marcella Andre and Jenny SenGupta were just a few of the models in the show. They were joined by recent IDTA ballroom champion Callie Frisell who gave an energetic shoutout to Tyra Banks of America's Next Top Model in commenting, "All those years of watching the show paid off!" And, like any event worth its salt, the show started "fashionably" late. No one was complaining though, if the hoots and hollers from the crowd were anything to go by.
Poolside, the two fully-stocked bars were ready, along with sponsor Quin Farara which distributed martini's featuring pomegranate liquer PAMA, available exclusively at its Heritage Quay, Long St. and Jolly Harbour locations.
An all-inclusive dinner kept the diners happy as they supped on the upper level, listening to an all-romance piano set courtesy of Vincent Blaize, while watching the fun below. If you missed the night, Mr. Blaize plays every Wednesday at Sugar Club so you'll have many more opportunities to catch the keys maestro at work. DJ Tanny Rose provided the music and special guest Antiguan Shermain Jeremy brought down the house with renditions of "Con te Partiro", Beyonce's "Halo", and songs off her 2009 album. The Purist, live from London, UK, appeared at the stroke of midnight doing the "wicka wicka" on the LP's old-style, and accompanied by Macedonian trumpeter Dadoni (Vladimir Nikolic).
This was no small production as Alex Nikolic of Event Studios organised the four video cameras documenting the event's festivities, adding to the Hollywood feel of the night.
It was a little something for everyone at the Sweet Love Valentine's Party, and hats off to everyone for all the hard work.
