And a good time was had by all…
Are you aware that the commonly used proverb “reward sweetens labour” is of Dutch origin? Maybe not. Regardless of the origin though, we can agree that there is quite a lot of truth to this statement. What else could explain the exuberance and excitement that was palpable last Saturday evening as those who were fortunate enough to be employees and affiliates of Supreme Security gathered for the fifth anniversary celebration of the company’s successful existence. The event also doubled as an awards ceremony and yuletide soiree.
Now though you may not have been there, imagine this. The party is snowflaked themed, all the guests (save for a few) are in white. The location is the third floor of Lolita’s Dream Home in the heart of the city. Dressed in your fine clothing and feeling fine, you enter a dimly lit room set for an elegant dinner. The red tablecloths are accentuated with white trimmings. Candled centerpieces, fine cutlery, multicoloured atmosphere lighting and a little light music combine to provide just the right elegant atmosphere. The aroma of good food teases your nostrils while colleagues, friends, clients, and family wait in anticipation of a great evening. This is an evening that was long in coming but worth the wait. Well-wishers including the Minister of the Finance and the Economy, Harold Lovell are all there, the programme and speakers provide food for thought, laughter and reflection. To end the night with a bang, you descend to the second floor where the DJ is spinning a mix of old and new, the bar is still flowing, and the queen of Soca Claudette Peters tops it off by giving you something to dance about!
Do you feel as if you were there yet? Do you wish you were? Well even if you didn’t this was an evening that will be remembered by all who attended.
Supreme Security, despite it’s relatively short time in business has come to regarded as a company that offers premium professionalism and especially supreme service. It is evident that the basis of this success in short time is the result of continued and reciprocal recognition of staff members and an abundance of good examples. Throughout the evening in a Grammy-award type format, awards were presented in a number of areas. Anna Francis won the Chairman's Award, Lloyd Edwards took away the Best Security Officer title while Beverly Massicott and Anna Francis both tied for “Most Dependable”. Anna Francis was popular that evening as she also won the award for Most Punctual. Best Deportment went to Myles Joseph and Desiree-Ann Lewis respectively, while one of the most important categories Best Customer Service was picked up by Michael Thomas and Cecelia Graham. These awardees were not the only ones recognized that evening. Members of management Stanley Europe, Maurice James, and Melanie Hazelwood were also recognized for their hard work and support over the last five years.
It was an evening full of shared gratitude. As the first part of the evening ended with a gift and recognition to the founders Capt. Lenroy Browne and Marlon Higgins, it is certain that their gratitude will be continue to be shown and felt over the years as everyone anticipates the next milestone celebration.
