Come ring in the New Year at this historical boutique hotel located in Nelson's Dockyard over in English Harbour. The party starts at 7 p.m. with an international style, all-you-can-eat buffet. TIDES cocktail party: $US125
It's a first for the Tides, the newest restaurant in Antigua and Barbuda and it's New Year's Eve celebration is being promoted as "a night to remember". A cocktail party starts at 7:30, with complimentary sparking wine and hors d'oeuvres prior to a 6-course gala dinner which will be served at 8:30 p.m. DJ Danny will provide the evening's entertainment. ABRACADABRA "Full Moon Party": $30
The team at Abra's (as the locals lovingly refer to it) are promising a night of fun and frivolity to help bring in the first "full moon" of 2010 - pretty clever, no?
Stellar music from DJ's Alan Russel and Woody, visuals by luyosoundsystem.com and a fashion show from the gorgeous ladies of Six Degrees Below Zero. Doors open at 11:30 and the highly-anticipated fireworks at the nearby Nelson's Dockyard add to the evening's festivities. Dinner is also available but be sure to book in advance. COAST "Golden Memories": $30 reg. $100 VIP
The Coast is taking you back in the day when it was all about the music (pop, rockers, calypso, hip hop, reggae) and the fun. You get it all at this north coast club favourite - party favours, champagne, two dance floors, 5 DJ's (Kenny Nibbs, Sir Undercover, Irish, Shawn & Mixologist), and entertainment by The Cheze Kake Factory ft. Jashan Hughes. The theme for the night is black and gold, so dress to impress. Holla!

WATERFRONT "Passion": $125 early, $150 late

"It's the Place to Be", this New Year's Eve at the newest hotel to open in Antigua & Barbuda. Dress in your casual elegance, wine, dine and be entertained on the pool deck with DJ Tanny and Monkey Tli. For the black tie crowd, Carmichael's just up the hill is offering a 5-course dinner + for US$185 Read up on the new kid on the hotel block.

THE BEACH "Midnight Lounge - Once in a Blue Moon": $50 deposit
The beach is known for keeping things simple and elegant. DJ Arron, fireworks and a bonfire will provide the evening's entertainment, and an à la carte menu, champagne and dinner service will fulfill your culinary requirements. NELSON'S DOCKYARD "The Mega Party": FREE ADMISSION
Conscious love groove, reggae, calypso and soca band Spirited (with cricket icons Richie Richardson and Curtly Ambrose) is playing this NYE at Nelson's Dockyard. It's a cash bar, and lots of food for sale at this perennial event favourite in a historical setting in the south-east part of the island. Bring your chairs and blanket for the popular fireworks display at midnight.

CLOUDS @ REX HALYCON " Nocturnal": $150 adv., more on the night
Northside and Marble Inc. Promotions are pulling out the stops at this premium all-inclusive NYE party at Clouds. Located on the north-west coast at the Rex Halcyon, it's new premium bar is fully stocked by sponsor Quin Farara, and DJ Quixx and guest DJ's will get the party started. Oh, and the semi-formal dress code is serious, so no messing around with them high tops. Did I mention the free shuttle bus? And the prizes and giveaways? You don't say. If you're looking for a classic night of Antiguan history and culture, look no further than Russell's Bar & Seafood Restaurant. Sitting atop the foundation of Fort James' walls, the view is stunning and the feeling is timeless. Russell, the proprietor has prepared an elegant evening complete with four-course dinner (surf 'n turf), champagne and after-party with Chickie's hi-fi.
