An historic, cinematic must-see
The Antigua Public Library is pleased to present the film, Schindler's List. It is an impactful, biographical drama which tells the story of German businessman, Oska Schindler (played by Liam Neeson) who used whatever means possible to save the lives of well over one thousand Polish Jews, during World War II.
This film was directed by Steven Spielberg, and stars Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Amon Göth and Ben Kingsley. It is one of the most powerful, historical movies about the Holocaust: which saw Nazi Germany enslave and exterminate millions of Jews, Romani, Soviet POWs, Polish and Soviet civilians, homosexuals, the disabled, Jehovah's Witnesses and other political and religious opponents.
If you have not seen this film or have a teenage child, consider watching this movie. Schindler's List is a very important cinematic work that captivates this low point in human history. One that all should learn from.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." - George Santayana.
