Field Trip to the Body Ponds Watershed Project
Join the Environmental Awareness Group on a Saturday morning hike, Saturday 17th April 7am, Buckleys.
Meet at Buckleys Pond situated about 500 metres south of the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Buckleys Village. The road to the pond is just next to the church entrance. Call 722-5432 for directions if needed.
From the pond area there is a grand view of the Body Ponds valley. The trip, which is being held in collaboration with the Forestry Unit, Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Housing and the Environment, will include a 30 minute walk from Buckleys to the Body Ponds area, where participants will be able to see the area intended for the EAG "Arboretum" Project near to Fisher Dam.
There will also be a climb to the ridge overlooking the whole of the Body Ponds/Brecknocks area including the Forestry Unit's re-forestation project in the area close to Fisher Dam.
