More Parental Involvement Needed in Sports

What kind of society are we building if parents don't give the time to show support to their own kids? That's the number one question sports administrators ask frequently. Where are the parents? As for the Wings Sports Club, thanks to the few parents who show up to support their young athletes at practice, games, meetings and fundraising. But many others are still invisible.

The Wings coaches have professions and famillies, yet they voluntarily give their time at least five days a week, to work with children. The children deserve more. On Saturday, January 30, the Wings U-13 team participated in the Young Warriors Football Extravaganza at Buckleys. Wings went under 2-1 in the first game against the Young Warriors and drew nil all against Willikies.

Find a local sport in your community and show your support.  Even if you don't have children of your own, it's always a good way to spend the day.
