Saturday July 7th was one of the more stapled fetes of the summer. The highly anticipated Caribbean Snowstorm, which — let's be real — is really known as “White Fete.” We’ve been waiting for this all year, but was this year’s White Fete worth the wait? Read our review to find out!

Venue

White Fete was in the same place it was last year; Sandpiper Hotel. This venue seems to be getting popular among Fete Promoters. Its not a bad venue per say, however, it definitely takes a lot of “dressing up” to make it anything near $150 worth. I can honestly say that White Fete has this in the bag. No stranger to creating an international atmosphere, White Fete rules once again. The stage was one thing, with the DJ high above the crowd and the subzero Absolut Vodka bar was another. There were several bars, a lounge and a food court. There really was nothing like it and it definitely didn’t feel like the other fetes which were at the same location. However, the location still can’t beat their infamous tent in 2010, but that doesn’t affect this review.
Venue gets a solid 4.5/5. Losing half a point for the bathroom situation. The air conditioned bathroom truck would have been a great addition.

Music

What’s that song again? “If god is a dj, life is a dancehall and we are the music.” If that’s the case then we’re all American and Trinidadian I guess. Of course the music was great, the Dj’s mixed extremely well, especially towards the end. However, I couldn’t help but noticing that there was very little Antiguan Soca played. White Fete scores major points for playing a variety of music regardless. Techno, Soca, Dancehall, Pop, etc. It was all present. Tizzy was a pretty good performer as she usually is at White Fete.
The music was great and gets a nice 4/5, losing for the lack of local music. (Supporting your own pays!)

Vibe

Stepping into White Fete feels like stepping into space (that’s a stretch but you get what I mean). Most stuck to the dress code, and those who didn’t, wore black to make a statement. Either way it was a great ambience. There was no slow start, people were happy from beginning to end and jamming in all areas of the venue.
White Fete definitely scores a 5/5 for its vibe. There is nothing quite like it!

Value

Here we go! So this fete cost $150 dollars and unlike other fetes (every other fete to be exact) that costs that much, there was no food included.

So obviously, it definitely wasn’t worth the price, right? DEAD WRONG.

What White Fete lacked in food, it made up for in dancers, drinks and service. People were walking around with huge martini shakers, there was a really hyper mic man on stage all night. We got a performance by Tizzy, a subzero bar and much more. Even little extras such as large inflatable white beach balls and confetti blowing throughout the party added to a very special experience. You know a party is good when you can talk about it days later. You know a party is GREAT when you just can’t actually stop talking about it. A party wth no food, costing $150? No problem there, White fete was worth exactly that! (Lets just try not to raise the price again though)
Value gets a 5/5.

Recommend it?

White Fete is probably the premium fete of the summer. If you can only afford one fete, then this is seems the one to go to. You really cannot miss it again if you missed it this year. The experience is like no other. Don’t forget that I said that!

All-in-All

White Fete, sorry, I mean The Caribbean Snowstorm, receives a high 18.5/20 which puts it at the top of our review list thus far.
