Jaycees Caribbean Queen Contestant Profile: Miss Sangrena Harris
Miss Sangrena Harris, one of this year’s Miss Jaycees Caribbean Queen contestants is as beautiful, talented and as focussed as they come. A 20-year-old native of Anguilla, Harris is a graduate of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School. She currently works as an executive secretary in the Department of Probation in Anguilla. Her hobbies include debating, pageantry, theatre, academics, and public speaking. Harris’s community involvement record includes being the CARICOM youth Ambassador of Anguilla – “Youth in Anguilla Program”, Lead Project Co-ordinator for local fundraiser “HELP HAITI” campaign with Digicel, and working with the Local Youth Campaign on “Why You Should Vote!” in the country’s past election. With such admirable credentials and the philosophy of “Youth Empowerment”, it is no surprise that her special interest is in youth and community development work. When asked to describe her personality, the unassuming contestant considered herself to be enthusiastic, humble, focussed, determined and a purpose-driven woman. Already looking to be one of Anguilla’s role models, Harris sees herself launching a local television series to address the issues that young people face socially, educationally and financially and the ways in which society can help to address them within the next five years.
