Often people sit back, rest on low expectations and say "Yeah, I could do that." with such bravado and aplomb - but can we? do we? Here are two Antiguan women who are rising above normal to exceedingly positive results.
Passionate, dynamic, talented and topped with professionalism, August Rush Productions is a company created by two young women who have each been touched by the arts and believe in its essential existence for the sanity of life.
Linisa George and Zahra Airall, both born on the same day, month and year, have woven through each other’s lives from day one, and even losing track of each other, were reunited with a phenomenal force in their shared passion for the arts and life.
Together, they co-directed, for two successful years in a row Eve Ensler’s controversial The Vagina Monologues in Antigua and Barbuda, receiving rave reviews. They’re both journalists, Linisa writing free ance for 365antigua.com and Entertainment Bazaar Antigua; and Zahra writing for the Antigua Sun newspaper, while doing freelance video journalism for 365antigua.com.
In addition to their creative nature in production and entertainment journalism, these two young women are also established themselves as potent spoken word artistes in Antigua and Barbuda, performing at local pubs, concerts and national events.
August Rush is committed to providing top quality with regards to the productions of shows and events, including product, service and art launches; feature articles and entertainment editorials, critiques, and exposes; short and full length scripts for stage or screen, radio and television commercials, and PSAs. Additionally, the company also offer photography services (from personal photo shoots, to fashion and weddings) under the sub-title byZIA photography.
