Roger the Jester delights, excites... without a word

An evening of enertainment at the Museum by performing mime and acrobat, Roger the Jester.

The evening started in the courtyard of The Museum in downtown St. John's with electricity in the air as many children arrived in anticiaption of the performance by Roger the Jester. Hot dogs and burgers were washed down by juice boxes as kiddies stood in line for face painting or utilized every inch of the museum's grounds in a game of tag. Adults mingled and many took the time to view the latest exhibits in the museum itself.

Then Roger arrived. Mismatched shoes and funky colour socks, his bold persona was accented by his silence. No doubt, he was the first mime most of the children had ever experienced. He smoothly managed the rabble with calm hand motions and quickly grabbed everyone's attention. A few tricks and some slight-of-hand presentations in the courtyard was proceeded by a 'pied piper' filing of everyone up the stairs and into the great room for the main event.

For an hour, Roger had everyone's attention glued on him. He pulled out all the stops with a variety of magic, juggling, object spinning and comedy. Each time he reached into his 'tickle' bag, another prop came out to amaze and thrill the audience. The energy from the children was so pure and bright, it couldn't help but be contagious to the adults who also giggled as Roger pulled pint-sized volunteers from the audience to regale the crowd with some kind of physical feat... all the while Roger the Jester never said a single word.

Roger the Jester is a visitor to Antigua who has an impressive resume including performing for 35 years in 24 countries. From the Broadway stage NYC to the sawdust of European circuses, Roger Reed has been visiting Antigua since 1981 and has entertained in Antigua at Shirley Hts, Carnival, Race Week and many private celebrations.
