Inet Kenny Benjamin U13 trophy matches at SVRCG next month
A group of students and teachers from Jennings and Bolans Primary Schools will have a great opportunity to attend the Inet Kenny Benjamin U13 trophy matches on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at the world famous Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds (SVRCG) thanks to new partner, Sugar Ridge Antigua.
Twenty students from each school plus their escorts will be treated to an afternoon of fun as they will be transported and receive lunch as they watch their teams – new addition Evergreen Bolans play against teams from Liberta, All Saints, Bethesda, Piggotts and Young Masters.
Aidan McCauley of Sugar Ridge is very excited about this event and explains that they got involved for three simple reasons: “"We love cricket, we love kids and we love Antigua."
Lucia Mings and Brenda Lee Browne of Persona Community, the event’s organisers, are overwhelmed by the positive response, “We are very humbled and thankful for Sugar Ridge Antigua’s positive contribution to the continuous development of the inet Kenny Benjamin Youth Fest and for partnering with us to host students to cheer on and support their peers. This event is all about the youngsters and ensuring that they have a great time.”
This year’s event has also attracted another new partner Galleon Beach who will also be treating children and their teachers from the Cobbs Cross School to an afternoon at the inet Kenny Benjamin Youth Fest.
Mings and Browne add that the SVRCG, Frank B. Armstrong, A.S. Bryden & Sons, and Goddard Catering continue to support the event: “We have a cadre of partners who do not hesitate to work with us and their confidence in us inspires us to work even harder to ensure that the inet Kenny Benjamin Youth Fest meets all its objectives to give children a positive weekend event.”
Registration forms for boys and girls age 8 to 13 may be collected from the inet office, APUA HQ, Cassada Gardens or from the event organisers at 268.774.3694 or 774.3688. The weekend costs EC$10 and includes all materials, refreshments and T shirt.
