Jaycees Caribbean Queen Contestant Profile: Miss Kisswana Jefford
Straight out of the naturally beautiful country of Guyana comes 20-year-old, Jaycees Caribbean Queen contestant Miss Kisswana Jefford. Currently in her first year at the University of Guyana pursuing a degree in International Relations, Jefford aspires thereafter to pursue a degree in Law with the intention of becoming a criminal attorney. Further solidifying her career goal, Jefford works as a legal clerk at the Law Firm Hughes, Fields & Stoby in Guyana to gain more experience in the field. With a special interest already centered in law, Jefford also has keen interests in God and her family.
As one may think, any positive, ingenious, cordial, assiduous and radiant person must have a secret to their personality and drive. Jefford’s secret lies in her life philosophy. She views life with three beacons of brightness: a flame of courage, a flame of love and a flame of hope, living by the credo that “whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe and enthusiastically act upon, must inevitably come to pass” (quoted from author Paul J. Meyer). Jefford’s hobbies are reading, surfing the net, hanging out with friends, spending time with orphans, the elderly and children faced with adversities. Jefford also loves the art of dancing and as such is a member of the Classique Dance Company in Guyana.
When asked who her favourite West Indian is, Jefford states that it is Guyanese native Desiree Bernard, for her accomplishments in the legal field enabling her to serve on the CCJ. In the next five years, Jefford sees herself starting a family and pursuing an advanced degree in Law towards her objective career field as a criminal attorney.
