Ballroom comes to Antigua

This Saturday Oct. 24th is the 6th Annual IDTA Regional Ballroom Classic at the YMCA.

It’s in the twirls, the dips, the spins, the perfect sync of pointed feet, and there’s that undeniable excitement.

It’s even better than watching Dancing with the Stars, ‘cause this year, you’ll be right there up close and personal.

For its sixth year, the annual IDTA Regional Ballroom Classic will be held right here in Antigua and Barbuda! You’ll get to see amazing routines and watch the tensions mount as Antigua goes up against dancers from Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago.

At last year’s competition, the small islands really gave the big islands a run for their money when A&B wiped out everyone on the winners’ podium for the beginners’ ballroom. Capturing first, second and third, the other islands realised that A&B was coming hard. So you can imagine how hard those islands are coming this year.

Antigua also placed first and second in beginners’ Latin; first in the Over 40 ballroom; third in the Over 40 Latin; and second in the adult line dance.

The 6th Annual IDTA Regional Ballroom Classic will be held here in Antigua on 24th Oct., 6pm sharp! at the YMCA Sports Complex. Tickets are on sale for $50 and can be purchased from members of the Terpsichorean Dance School.

Be sure to view the video interview of 365TV's entertainment beat correspondent Zahra Airall with a selection of dance competitors, as well as some of the routines in advance of the competition. Look to your right...
